Road Sign Perception Test
The RSPT (Green, 2008) takes about 7 minutes to complete on computer and it is fully computer administered and scored.
The RSPT tests the ability to perceive up to three road signs which are flashed on the screen very quickly (e.g. 50 msecs.) or more slowly (e.g. 900 msecs.).
Speeded visual perception of this type is not usually tested by neuropsychologists.
Preliminary research suggests that the RSPT is very sensitive to acquired cognitive impairment in early dementia from HIV, in other forms of dementia and in various neurological conditions (e.g. chronic epilepsy leading to removal of left hippocampus and parahippocampal gyrus).
